BUUR Part of Sweco is trying to help secure the future of our planet by supporting the PROVIDE research project.
The Paris Agreement states that we need to limit global warming to 1.5 °C if we want to avoid major climate fiascos. If we fail to do so, we will end up in an overshoot scenario with extreme heat waves, floods and droughts.
The PROVIDE project maps out the impact and risks of this scenario in an innovative tool and applies them to local situations in four different regions of the world. With this accurate input, urbanists and policy makers can set to work to create a concrete action plan to arm themselves against the consequences of global warming. In this way, this project makes the bridge between scientific climate research, urban planning and climate adaptation.
We are part of the interdisciplinary consortium with recognised experts from science, urban planners, stakeholders and EU organisations.
