The second edition of the Next Generation Podium for the Eurodelta (organized by Vereniging DeltaMetropool on behalf of the SURE network) last week was a great success! And this thanks to the contribution of experts and public sector officials from Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany as well as the participation of master’s students, doctoral candidates and post-doc researchers.
BUUR POS was delighted to show our work on transport-oriented-mobility spatial planning. Miechel De Paep discussed how the Flemish territory can be adapted for a shift from individual mobility towards public transport.
Kathleen Van de Werf welcomed a group of master’s students from KULeuven in our Leuven office and gave them a look into our company and work in urbanism – an urbanism that creates the spatial and social conditions for a transition towards sustainable living.
To wrap up the event Sarantis Georgiou (on water-management and climate adaptation) and Felipe Gonzalez (on smart specialization strategies and circular economy) among others, guided a 2-day workshop where students were able to develop visionary ideas for the future of the Eurodelta region.
